As mentioned in a previous post – my health had taken a dip of late. Nothing too much to worry about, I managed to get help at the right time and Kathryn has been great to me. She really is the person I put my contentment down to – she is an amazing person & I am lucky to have found her.

However, I have been able to continue with work. Sometimes not all that well. I have been keeping up with client based portfolios but I have not been making much ground with it. So, I decided to close TreeBark Design – only to open Andy Backhouse Design.

Andy Backhouse Design is a new venture for me – when I started TreeBark I thought about going into partnership with a few friends to form a bit of a co-op. However, that was not going to happen. So, I have struck out on my own. Andy Backhouse is more true to who I am than TreeBark. Plus, TreeBark sounds like an extra in The Matrix who was killed by Agent Smith in episode II. If you want to see the portfolio I have built for myself as Andy Backhouse Design then click on the link.

Friday saw mine and Allan’s release “Dub Dog” hit the shops. Quiet response from the radio and a quiet response from the charts at the moment. But, it is only 24 hours into the release so I need to keep an eye on it. I am currently listening to the iPlayer (Radio) for BBC Introducing York & North Yorkshire – we uploaded the title track of the EP but it doesn’t look like it will get played.

Saturday saw me flat out at permitted work – this has left me exhausted and something needs to be done about it. However, I got a bit of downtime and managed to help Stewart record his radio show – The Sound Of Wonder is out in the æther and can be listened to below.

So, all in all it has been a bit of a damp squib of a W/E that never really achieved lift-off. We will keep on keeping on and see where the release gets us. Although I can’t help feeling let down by our PR. He seems to shift to his core mates as opposed to paying customers more and more and I just feel a bit hurt. Either that or we really annoyed JK @ York Introducing when we did our session.

Still no biggy.

I am in a good place at the moment – I am off the extra medication that I was prescribed for my lurgie and and am nestling a beer on my desk as BBC Introducing is in my headphones ….

It is the simple things that need to be appreciated.
