Easter 22

I figure I would force myself to write something - it has not been easy, the weight of a blog on my shoulders but I am enjoying writing this post already. In this post, I will go on about what happened over Easter 2022. In essence, nothing too much, life continued and life was lived - humbly and forthright.

Friday. Good Friday saw Tracey and Andy call over with a tech problem. The pair of nut jobs are cycling from Amsterdam to Gibraltar in a few days and they needed help with their mobile blogging system. I help out a bit with their tech set up and it is a good feeling… You can read Tracey’s Blog HERE and you can see Andy’s site HERE.

I am reading a book called Design As An Attitude, by Alice Rawsthorne. Design as an Attitude explains how design is responding to an age of intense economic, political, and ecological instability. It shows how resourceful designers are using new digital tools to help to tackle the environmental and refugee crises, and to reinvent dysfunctional social services. This sums it up because the designs I am making for Andy & Tracey have a direct impact on their fundraising and as a result, lives being saved in the field. If it was not possible for people to find out about Andy and Tracey’s story then there would be no donations and no income to MSF, who they raise finds for. But, I am the big lad who is good at computers - they are the ones cycling around Allover to raise the funds.

And, speaking of cycling, I am due delivery if my old bike tomorrow by 4pm. I managed to twist Dad’s arm in to getting the bike back off him. He now has space for an electric bike and I have my cruiser back. We both win. I have all of the gold standard locks and ties, helmets and reflective bits. But, I do not have the cycle shorts. Can’t wait to get back on the road.

I am making enquiries with Dave about getting more confident on the road - more on that later.

Another life skill I am working on is that I have signed for Breathing Classes with Georgie. She works as Breathe With Georgie and I am already feeling the better for it - it is making me a bit more focused and have less wondering thoughts. I am enjoying the classes and look forward to the next one… I hope to write this up nearer the time of completion.

Easter Saturday was spent doing a whole load of not much; it was great. A really lazy day!

Easter Sunday saw me in Major Tom’s with Stewart and Allan. We were DJ’ing in Major Tom’s to raise the profile of the station. I had my Traktor Z1 and Scooby ran to get his Laptop. At one point there was the thought that we would need to put in a twelve hour shift but thankfully two lads showed up to and played some Garage. It was good to hear that genre being mixed properly. Garage is one genre I struggle to move to - so, sometimes 4/4 beats have a place?

I was glad when we got home, fell asleep before tea, as Kathryn was cooking, but woke up happy to a roast dinner that was a bit later than planned.

Monday; my head is a bit of a mess today, struggling to form coherence and I am finding it hard to articulate in speech how I feel and what is going on. I have been put on extra medication, they have been upped, so the Team who help me out are definitely aware there is an issue. Mum and Dad drove through Harrogate today, stopping off to drop off my old bike lock - I had hoped they would join us for a cup of tea, in Apartment 16, but they were just seeking the quiet life after a busy week so tootled home.

Easter, it is the season of rebirth. Reawakenings. New starts.

Who knows what will be happening this time next year, but there are constants as well as flux…

He who binds to himself a joy, Does the winged life destroy. He who kisses the joy as it flies, Lives in eternity’s sunrise
